A look back at old Space Marines

Vongutenbooms RT Space Marine Army

So today I have busted out my RTo1 Imperial Space Marines after I found this video today that made me very happy. Sort of a tribute to all the old Space Marines that have come and gone, but not forgotten!

I had never seen Codex Compliant but I think I am a fan now! Check out this special episode devoted to old SM

I have a few old Rogue Trader army’s languishing in their storage boxes, I even have some still on the sprue (…gasp!) no but really I had been saving them for a rainy day project… but with GW’s currently release scheduled I can’t keep up this year! It physically broke me with Necromunda AoS2 and Adeptus Titanicus and Killteam hot on there heals not to mention Shadespire what broke me was Speed Freaks I went that’s enough! I love you GW but calm your tits already! I bought the SnasdakkaBoom wagon as it was the coolest looking Ork vehicle I have ever seen in a box set! I regret not getting the game but I had to draw the line some where… I have 7 Adeptus Titanicus titans waiting for me to build them and those are time consuming as all hell!

… deep breath back to old Marines

Imperial Space Marine Squad

This is still my favorite thing I have ever bought in my 30plus years as a hobby gamer! It was the very first plastic box set I got when I was 10 yrs old (this one I bought isn’t the original one that one was built years ago and they are part of the devastator squad in the photos I posted this one is still waiting for an inspirational idea!) and then I’ll build it! 😀

Space Marine Devastator Squad

Space Marine Tactical Squad

I still love the beak marines they will always have a special place in my grim-darkened Heart 😉

Space Marine Chaplain and captains, Medic

I like some of the old lead marines especially the chaplain! That grimace the skull shoulder pads the power maul!

Space Marine Dreadnought

The old Dreadnought is a little goofy and a bit dated he has not stood the test of Time as well and I must say the 2nd ed Dreadnought vastly improved the whole model and is still the base of all the current line Dreads!

Imperial Space Marine Mk1 Rhino

And Who could forget this classic beauty markI Rhino’ the work Horse of the Rogue Trader Imperium! One of my hurtles, do I repaint models I painted 30 years ago or do I paint new ones so I sill have a 10 man jump pack squad imperial space marines on jet bikes and at least 20 more Beak marines on sprue in a bag all need painting! Maybe I will just add to my blood Angels army and just make it a bigger RT army 😉

Any way sorry for the Nostalgia trip down memory lane just had that on my mind since AdeptiCon when I played in the 2nd ed tournament! It was a blast I will consider it again if it’s on the schedule next year!

Well see you in the wasteland or on the battlefield!
